Your tee shirt is O.K. to wear, but a long-sleeved cloth shirt is better, for the same reasons that long pants are best. You can always roll the sleeves up. Plain broadcloth or other close-woven cotton is best in summer; in cool weather, light-weight flannel is good. When it is very cold, two wool flannel shirts are better than one very heavy wool shirt, just as two light blankets are better than one heavy one. Girls have already discovered that boy’s shirts are good wearing. The tails stay in and the shirt has swing action. Dad’s old white shirts are no good for camping, though. They would soon be a mess. Wear a sturdier, darker one Bright plaids, khaki-color duds or dark colors are best for camping, where laundry is a problem and outer clothes usually wait until you get home. Bring some beef jerky along for a quick snack.
