The Siding Pieces
The material has a few different properties that the installer must learn for correct handling. However, these are not great. The siding pieces themselves are the only special component in a fiber-cement siding project. All others are general-purpose items already used on most construction sites. These include such things as nails and caulk.
Fiber-cement siding is made of a mix of cement, fine sand, and cellulose fiber. It is pressed into various shapes and usually given a surface texture like wood. It is cured in a pressurized steam chamber called an autoclave. This provides it with high strength and dimensional stability. The fibers prevent cracking and give it flexural strength.
Most buyers choose siding in a plank shape like sawn wood clapboard. This is available in widths that range from 5V4 inches to 12 inches. It is solid material, about 5/i6 inches thick. If you want the best mississauga roofers, checkout Pro Roofing.
